About Joon Song, MD, Ph.D, FACOG

Dr. Song brings a unique mix of skills to his surgical practice. In addition to being a highly experienced minimally-invasive surgeon, having performed over 3,000  robotic and laparoscopic procedures for benign, infertility and urogynecologic conditions in New York.

He also has extensive training in reproductive medicine, including in vitro fertilization.  A board-certified endoscopic gynecologic surgeon, he has been transferring his extensive expertise in laparoscopy to the field of robot-assisted gynecologic surgery since the introduction of robot-assisted gynecologic surgery.  He has pioneered numerous minimally invasive surgeries.

In addition to using robotic surgery to treat conditions like fibroids, endometriosis, chronic pelvic pain and pelvic organ prolapse, he is pioneering the use of robotic techniques to reverse tubal ligation—a relatively new procedure known as tubal recanalization or tubal reversal. Dr. Song is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and has Level 3 certification from the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists

He has been an invited lecturer, surgical proctor and guest surgeon in US and other continent.  He has published 55 peer-reviewed articles and abstracts, over dozen surgical technique videos that have been presented to American Associate of Gynecologic Laparoscopy.  Videos have been reviewed by other surgeons and patients.
